Terrance “Terry” Gene Schliem

Terrance “Terry” Gene Schliem passed away on January 1, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Terry was born in Rockford, IL on June 18, 1944. He grew up in rural South Wayne, WI area. He graduated from South Wayne High School in 1962 and attended University of California. He started his banking career in the old bank in Woodford Wisconsin in 1966.  Terry was named Bank President in 1971. He initiated building the new bank building in Woodford to replace the old bank. He was also the driving force to expand the Woodford Bank to a site in Monroe. That building has since been sold, and a new facility was built in its current location.

He built the 4 Seasons House near Woodford, which held many functions and open house tours. He then bought the Idle Hour Mansion in Monroe. It was a labor of love to restore it and open it up to the public again. He also owned a limousine service for several years. Music was a huge part of his life, mostly playing by ear (like his mother, Elizabeth). Terry moved to Las Vegas in 2000 after retirement from the bank.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth (Peterson) Miller, and step-father, Clifford Miller; brothers, Dale Schliem and Lewis Schliem; brother-in-law, Alvin DeNure. He is survived by brothers, Richard (Carol) Schliem and Gerald (Carol) Schliem; sisters, Shirley DeNure and Mary Lou (James) DeVoe; and, sisters-in-law, Doris Schliem and Virginia Schliem. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
