Robert E. Curran age 75, of the Monroe area, died Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on May 12, 1944, the son of Archie and Eleanore (Johnson) Curran. He graduated from Warren High School. Robert married LaVonne Flack on August 1, 1965; he later married LaDonna Melvin on September 27, 2003.
Robert was a semi-driver for Richardson Trucking, DB&T Trucking, and Bob Anderson Trucking. He attended Martintown Lutheran Church. Robert enjoyed fishing, bowling, working with horses, antique tractors and loved nature.
He is survived by his sons, Rodney (Patrisha) Curran of Warren, IL and Mark (Tina) Curran of Monroe; partner, Sue Anna Gudgel of Luana, Iowa; 3 grandchildren: Anthony (Jaclyn) Curran of Rochelle, IL, Patrick and Benjamin Curran of Monroe; 1 great-grandson, Lincoln; 2 step-grandchildren, William and Jeffrey McNett; siblings, Dorothy (Jerry) Cunningham of Schaumburg, IL, Duane (Barb) Curran of Lena, IL, Anita Marsh of Freeport, IL, Jerry (Bonnie) Curran of Lena, IL, Frank (Bess) Curran of Mosinee, WI, Gene (Sue) Curran of Monroe, and Allen (Maryann) Curran of Madison.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Dave Marsh.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum in Freeport, IL; with Pastor Kevin Cernek officiating. A memorial fund in Robert’s name is being established. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
