MaryAnn “Susie” Boeck, age 93, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the SSM Health Monroe Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born the daughter of Otmar and Lydia (Egli) Keller on March 6, 1930. Susie was born and raised on the family farm in rural Monroe. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1948. On May 27, 1961 she was united in marriage to Glen Boeck.
Susie worked at UTELCO, Monroe Specialty, Swiss Colony, and owned and operated the Monroe Dairy Queen with Glen for more than 35 years. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Order of Eastern Star Alpha Chapter 114, and Women of the Moose #599. She was also a Sunday School Teacher and a Cub Scout Den Mother. Susie and Glen enjoyed trips to their second home in Florida where they spent many winters with dear friends, Keith and Julia Schultz and Pat and Mae Dunn. Spending time with her children and grandchildren is what she cherished most. Susie also enjoyed bowling, gardening, cooking, trips to the casino, and camping trips with her niece, Diane and husband, Jeff Reed.
Susie is survived by her husband, Glen of Monroe; children; Alan (Laurie) Boeck of Monroe, Shelly Boeck of Cape Coral, FL, and Gary (fiancé, Jeanne Grossen) Boeck of Orfordville; grandchildren, Jordan (Nathen) Troha and Matt Boeck; great-grandchildren, Preston, Connor, and Cooper; sister, Marlene (Ivan) Gobeli all of Monroe; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Homer Gavigan; son, Greg Boeck; and sisters, Linda Hilfiker and Lucille (John) Stoehr.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Union Cemetery in South Wayne.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM with an Order of the Eastern Star Service held at 7:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
