Marlene Grace Williams, 84, Edgerton, passed away at UW Hospitals and Clinics in Madison WI on Thursday July 6, 2023.

Marlene was born on February 25, 1939 on the family dairy farm in Green County to Rudolf and Fannie (Schaer) Ammon. She was the youngest of five children. Marlene attended school in Monticello before moving to Argyle where she finished High School. She always attended class reunions for both schools. She married her High School sweetheart Charles Willis Williams on September 6, 1958 at Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello, Wisconsin. To this union five children were born.

Charlie and Marlene moved their family with Charlie’s U. S. Army career to Washington State, California, Nuremburg Germany, and St. Cloud, Minnesota. Marlene worked at Central Colony in Madison WI and attended school for her LPN. She worked as a nurse at different facilities in Stoughton, Janesville, and Wisconsin Dells. She played thousands of games of Yahtzee at the kitchen table or the patio with her husband Charlie. After her retirement in 1995, she and Charlie spent their winters in Casa Grande, Arizona and summers at their camper in Wisconsin. They made their home base in Edgerton with their oldest son. Marlene kept herself busy with the Wisconsin National Guard Enlisted Association Auxiliary where she was Secretary for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, canning and watching the birds and animals from her window. She is survived by her children Charles Jr (Carolyn) Williams, Edgerton WI; John (Julie) Williams, Albany WI; Christine (Michael) Helley, Albany WI; David (Diane) Williams, Baraboo WI; and Daniel (Kim Piper) Williams, Albany WI. Grandchildren: Andrew and Erik Williams, Jaclyn and Jordan Williams, Brooke and Linze Helley, and Terrie Williams (Drew) Wilf. Great-grandchildren: Cade, Amillia and a blessing arriving in November. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Charlie and her brothers Rudy and John and sisters Mildred and Ethel. Funeral services will be held at 12 PM on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Zwingli UCC in Monticello, WI. Burial will follow at Exeter Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 10 AM until the start of services.
