BROOKLYN – Mardell Kopp Zweifel, one of 11 Children born to Willis and Vera Kopp on March 3, 1944, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital on Sunday, August 5, 2018 after a brief illness.
Mardell married her High School Sweetheart, Gerald Zweifel of rural Brooklyn on March 12, 1960 at the Albany United Methodist Church. Jerry and Mardell lived on the Family Farm all their married lives – enjoying the farm life of milking cows, raising pigs, steers and chickens while raising their family of Three Daughters. Mardell enjoyed Summer time the best – gardening, canning, mowing lawns and nurturing her many flowers.
She is survived by her Husband of 58 years, Jerry Zweifel, two daughters – Cindy (Lynn) Staude and Pam (Jim) Dunphy. Six Grandsons - Lee (Jenny) Koepp, Sam (Melissa) Koepp, Ryan (Maira) Dunphy, Ross (Jordan) Dunphy, Troy (Trina) Shrader and Travis Shrader. And 10 Great Grandchildren who fondly called her Nana. Mardell was preceded in Death by her Daughter Carmen Zweifel Shrader and both her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home Evansville with Reverend Tom Moe of the United Methodist Church Albany officiating. Burial will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery Albany. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
