Lois Olson, age 92 of Monroe passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at SSM Hospital in Monroe. Born August 23, 1929 in Monroe to J.J. (John Jacob) and Alice (Babler) Stauffacher.  She graduated from Monroe High School in 1946.  She was employed at Hoffman’s Dry Cleaners as a bookkeeper/clerk before her marriage.  

Lois was married to Clayton Olson at St John’s Evangelical & Reformed Church by Reverend Paul Kehle on October 30, 1949; he preceded her in death on July 27, 1991.  She lived all her married life in Monroe.  Clayton later became owner/partner of Hoffman’s.  She was employed in the Commercial Dept at United Telegraph Co. for 35 years from May 1959 until her retirement in September 1994.

Lois was a lifelong member of St John’s UCC, Monroe where she taught Sunday School for many years, and served as President and secretary of the Women’s Guild.  

She is survived by her son, Greg (Korene) Olson of Monroe; grandchildren, Diane (Joshua) Brzezinski of Beaver Dam and Todd (Maggie) Olson of Wildwood, MO; great grandchildren; Hannah Brzezinski, Cleo, and Clayton Olson; her sister, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Stauffer Browntown; sister-in-law, Barb Timm; brother-in-law, Harold Alt; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.    

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Jane Ault and Janet Monehan and a baby brother in infancy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday March 25, 2022 at St. John’s United Church of Christ with Reverend Todd Hackman officiating.   

A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of service at church.
