Kim “KC” Christen, of Blanchardville passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at his home. He was born the son of John and Irma (Herbert) Christen on December 4, 1954 in Monroe. He was a graduate of Monroe High School, where he excelled academically and became a member of the National Honor Society. Kim continued to further his education, earning his Bachelor’s Degree from UW-Platteville. After college, he returned to Clarno to help run the Christen family farm alongside his dad, for several years. He later worked at Uniek in Waunakee as the head of receiving for over 25 years, retiring in 2022.
Kim loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was passionate about all things nature and was a life member of the Green County Conservation League; he served as president for several years and was still the current president at the time of his passing. He was very knowledgeable about all the variety of wildlife and trees throughout the area. Kim especially loved his “little piece of paradise” he shared with his partner in life, Dianne, where they enjoyed hosting camp-outs and family reunions.
Kim is survived by his longtime partner in life, Dianne Dunks; his children, Sandy (Joe Riniker) Groesbeck, David Groesbeck, Carlie (Dave) Love, and Brent Aide; a very special grandson, Tyler Curtis; brother, Donald (Sandy) Christen; sister-in-law, Sylvia Christen; as well as several nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Richard and Keith Christen.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12pm (noon) on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating. Burial will take place in East Clarno United Methodist Cemetery at a later date. **Due to allergies please refrain from wearing perfume, cologne, or scented lotions.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5th, at the funeral home, from 10am until the time of service.
