Karla J. Rasmussen, age 39 of Monticello, formerly of South Wayne, died unexpectedly Friday June 9, 2023. She was born on January 15, 1984 in Marshfield, WI, the daughter of Debra K. Reed and Mark Henke. She graduated from Blackhawk High School in 2002. She worked in facilities dept. at Dane County. She enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, camping, visiting friends, antique and thrift stores, old records. She had many tattoos- each with a special meaning. She was always looking for the next great Air B&B or camping adventure.

She is survived by her mother, Deb Henke of Evansville, sister, Paula Henke of Middleton; manfriend, Jeremiah Strese of Monticello; many cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives; her fur baby, Benny, such a mischievous little boy.

A celebration of Karla’s life will be held on Saturday July 8, 2023 from 12:00 to 10:00 pm at South Wayne Community Park, on Robert Homb Memorial Drive, South Wayne, WI.

Karla was a light, she lit up a room she entered. She always took time with the kids and the kids loved her. She was a beautiful caring soul.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to a facility for mental health of your choice.
