Johnnie Lee Pehl, 51, of Pecatonica, IL died at 12:40 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 in his home after a courageous battle with cancer, with his family by his side.
He was born March 18, 1967 in Rockford, IL the son of Laura (Tom) Page and Darryl (Christy) Pehl. Johnnie was employed as a machinist by A-1 Lapping in Rockford, IL for over 30 years. He enjoyed going to the trailer on the lake, many years of demo derbies. He loved his granddaughters and spending time with family and enjoyed his dog Ollie.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mercy at Home Hospice and caregiver Stephanie; the Cancer Center at Mercy Health Hospital and Cori for all their tender loving care given to Johnnie.
Survivors include: son Anthony (Olivia) Pehl; fiancee Cori Papini; daughter Tonya (Dave) Heckman; son Tadd Heckman all of Pecatonica, IL; grandchildren Ashlynn and Kentley Heckman; mother Laura (Tom) Page of Pecatonica, IL; father Darryl (Christy) Pehl of Monroe, WI; brothers Shawn (Lisa) Turner of Freeport, IL, Erich (Heather) Turner of Monroe, WI and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his lifelong companion Renee Heckman.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 in McCorkle Funeral Home – Countryman Chapel 529 Washington St., Pecatonica, IL with a memorial ceremony at 7:00 p.m. Reverend Michael Jones of Shannon United Methodist Church will be officiating. Cremation Rites to be Accorded with final resting place to be Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
