Joanne Faye Rankins, age 87, of Monroe passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018 at The Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born in Albany on December 1, 1930 to Harry and Laura (Holtsapple) Jacobson, Sr. She was a 1948 graduate of Albany High School. Joanne was united in marriage to Garland A. Rankins in Albany.

She was a bus driver for the Albany School District for over 30 years. Joanne also enjoyed volunteering and helping people; and was a long time member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Albany.

Joanne is survived by her children, Catherine (Kurt) Maske of Oshkosh and Jeffrey (Pat) Rankins of Hayward; three grandchildren, Mark (Julie) Maske, Christopher Maske, and Jillian (Matthew) Smith; and one great-grandchild, Peyton Maske.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Harry Jacobson, Jr., two sisters, Marian Maenner and Dorothy Baertschi; and special friend, Orrie Krause.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Albany Lion’s Club, with Pat Pluss officiating. Visitation was held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Joanne’s name.
