Janice E. Keller, age 69 of Monticello, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at her home. Janice was born on July 31, 1949 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Norman and Theresa (Loeffelholz) Richter. She graduated from Freeport Aquin High School in 1967 and attended Highland Community College for two years. Janice graduated with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University in 1972. She married Richard P. Keller on January 19, 1985 in Monticello. She worked as the Albany Public Librarian for a few years and later was employed as a C.N.A. for 18 years at Pleasant View Nursing Home and Badger Prairie Health Care in Verona until retiring in April, 2011. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Keller of Monticello; five children, Tammy (Jeremy) Sughroue of Freeport, IL, Mike Keller (Anna) of Brodhead, Ricky (Hillary) Keller of Rhinelander, Matthew Keller of Monticello, and Ashley Keller (Josh) of Monroe; five grandchildren, Tristan, Peyton, Ella, Eugene, and Christopher; a brother, Ralph (Norma) Richter of Wood River, IL, a sister, Sally (Don) Tyrer of Freeport; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Jean Miller and Joyce Rucker.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello, with Rev. Lance Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, Monticello. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in her name.
