Hope Grace Starr, age 75, of Browntown passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Collinwood Memory Care in Brodhead. She was born the daughter of William and Josephine (Francois) Crosby on October 11, 1946 in Chicago, IL. She earned her GED in 1991 and went on to attend Business Adminstration classes at Blackhawk Technical College in Monroe. Hope was united in marriage to Jerry L. Starr on November 14, 1964 in Milwaukee.

Hope worked at Prepak and MTX for many years, she later worked at Tele Charter until she retired. She kept busy tending to her big flower and vegetable gardens and canning every year. She enjoyed sewing, reading, camping, doing crosswords and ceramics; she was also an avid reader, she especially liked romance novels. Hope also had a passion for collecting; she found many treasures when she went to garage sales. She also liked to “chase” and follow hot air balloons whenever she saw them.

Hope is survived by her children, Brian (Lou Ellen) Starr of Browntown and Karen (Phil) Brooks in Brodhead; son-in-law, Ken Henningsen; grandchildren, Megan and Alaina Starr, Jessica (Todd) Noble, and TJ Wright; one great-grandson, Landon Noble; brother, Bob (Sandy) Hermanson; sister, Faith (Claude) Royce; sister-in-law, Ellen Crosby; sisters-in-law, Mary (Bob) Pierce and Betty Peterson; brother-in-law, Marion Pierce; dear friends, Reyne and Stacey Phillips; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband, Jerry; daughter, Ann Henningsen; brother, Bill Crosby; nephew, Christopher Royce; sisters-in-law, June Pierce and LaVon Hughes; and brothers-in-law, Eddie Starr and Kurt Peterson.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating. Burial will follow service in Saucerman Cemetery.
