Elizabeth “Betty” J. Dunwiddie, age 87, of Juda passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018 at her home. Betty was born on April 25, 1931 to Hazel (Prien) Hilliard and Shirl Hilliard. Betty attended country schools and graduated from Juda High School, class of 1948.

On November 27, 1948 she and Roger C. Dunwiddie, her high school sweetheart, were united in marriage at the Immanuel Evangelical Church in Monroe. Roger and Betty celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1998, and were married for 57 years at the time of Roger’s passing. They resided at the Dunwiddie farm for 45 years in Juda. Here is where they raised their family of eight children, until August of 1993, when Roger and Betty moved to their new home, still located in Juda. Besides being a busy mother, Betty was employed by the Juda School as a bus driver for 30 years, worked for the Marshfield Clinic as a medical courier, and was a Mary Kay consultant for 15 years. She was a member of the Green County Boots and Saddle Club, Green County Mounted Patrol and Mid Century Homemakers Club. Betty and her late husband traveled to several European countries, Costa Rica, Panama, Panama Canal, and Hawaii. They also drove their motor home throughout the western and southern states. They also enjoyed trips to Alaska, Canada, the Yukon, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and numerous train trips with friends.

Betty is survived by her children, Gail Johnson, Dan (Sue Homb) Dunwiddie, Steve (Karen) Dunwiddie, Tami (Brian Kundert) Pfeuti, and Patti (Doug Jones) Dunwiddie; grandchildren, Jeff and Katie (Patrick Doyle) Sturdevant, Amanda (Jason) Smith, McKenzie (Russ) Homan, Lance (Kelsey) Dunwiddie and Corrine Dunwiddie, Jeremiah (Robin) Johnson, Jason (Krissy) Johnson, Michelle (Jon) Steinmann and Justin Dunwiddie, Brad, Matt (Chantel) Dunwiddie, Lauren (Willie) Nelson, Taylor and McKenna Pfeuti, Kristen Kundert, Jordyn and Alyssah Kubly, and Rafe Jones; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Richardson; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Hinkel and son-in-law, Warren Sturdevant.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Mike Dunwiddie, Suzanne Sturdevant, and Jeffrey in infancy; and a brother, Lyle Hilliard.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018 at Monroe United Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Booth officiating. Burial will follow services in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Juda.
