Curtiss E. Kohl, age 73, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at his home. He was born the son of Forrest and Irene (Duchow) Kohl on December 14, 1948 in Monroe. He was a 1967 graduate of Monroe High School. Curt was united in marriage to Diane Zwickey on February 14, 1976 at the United Methodist Church in Monroe.

Curt proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for GM in Janesville for 42 years until they closed; he later worked at Klondike Cheese. He loved all Wisconsin sports; he was a devoted fan who watched every game. He also enjoyed fishing.

Curt loved bowling; he held the state record in Illinois for 15 years. He bowled on several leagues winning several local and national tournaments. Bowling became a family event – he and Diane bowled on a couple’s league for years. He enjoyed getting his kids and grandkids involved in bowling too. He traveled all over the Midwest just to bowl.

Family was most important to him, he especially enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. He never missed their sports activities and was always there for all of his family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, jokes, and teasing others.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane; children, Tiffany Turner and Brett Kohl all of Monroe; grandchildren, Darien, Deion, and Aysha; sister, Tari Dower; his best friend, his dog, Dena; and cousins, nieces, nephews, many other extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Donna Rae Kohl, Shery (Dennis) Bachim, Diane Isely, Carol (Doral “Dutch) Ethridge, and Barbara (Harry “Slim”) Henning; and brother, Steve (Sonya) Kohl.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 11, 2022 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
