MONROE - The six-member ensemble known as Voices Unlimited will bring their upbeat and intricate blend of voices and unique instrumental arrangements to the Monroe Arts Center stage for one performance only at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28.

Their thoughtfully crafted arrangements, a masterful use of tight, five-part harmonies, infectious rhythms, and exhilarating improvisations all characterize this group's distinctive style. This, combined with an indisputable jazz influence, creates a seamless and smooth sound.

This is the third show in the Monroe Arts Center's 2008-2009 MAC Stage Series.

The musical accompaniment for this program of jazz, blues, pop, and gospel are lead by world-class pianist and composer Patrick Beckman. Additional accompaniment also includes John Hartman on lead guitar, Rick Andrews on bass guitar, and percussion by Jon Watson. The vocalists who round-out this versatile group include Judy Knudtson of Monroe, and Ashli Keith, Allen Reford, Karen Gorsline, and John Hartman, all from the northern Illinois area.

It was in January, 2008 that Voices Unlimited made their debut appearance at the Monroe Arts Center Showcase of Talent.

"It was my love of vocal jazz that drove me to persuade some of my friends to join me and audition for the Showcase of Talent. And the rest, as they say, is history," Knudtson said.

Reserved seat tickets for Voices Unlimited are $25 and $20, and may be purchased by calling the Monroe Arts Center box office at 325-5700. Additional information regarding this performance and other Monroe Arts Center events can be found online at www.monroeartscenter.com
