DARLINGTON - Lafayette County deputies are investigating the burglaries of five restaurants or tavern businesses. Two of the burglaries occurred in Wiota township, one in the Village of Gratiot, one in Diggings township, and one in the Village of Benton.
The first burglary in Wiota township was reported on Wednesday morning. The remaining burglaries occurred sometime during the early-morning hours of Thursday, March 26, and initial reports were received shortly after 5:45 a.m.
The burglaries are believed to be related. Forcible entry to each of the businesses occurred while they were unoccupied.
