ALBANY - The Albany Polar Pork Special Olympics Team, comprised of members from the Albany Police Department and Wisconsin Department of Corrections, is still in need of donations to participate in the Polar Plunge Saturday, Feb. 18 at Olin Park in Madison.
The event is a fundraiser for Special Olympics. Members are able to field a complete team, but are only about halfway toward their goal of $1,500 and are seeking last-minute donations, said Albany Police Officer Larry Harkey.
To make a tax deductible donation for the team, visit the Wisconsin Polar Plunge website at www.specialolympicswisconsin.org/polar_plunge.asp, click on "Madison Polar Plunge" and donate to the "Albany Polar Pork."
More information is available by calling Harkey at (608) 719-7431, by e-mail to larryjharkey@yahoo.com, or visiting the Polar Plunge website.
