MONROE - A Monticello man was sentenced to six months in jail last week after pleading no contest to a fourth-offense felony charge of driving while intoxicated.
Pedro Verdecia Aguilar, 59, was charged after an incident in February 2015 when he was stopped by police for a seatbelt violation on Wisconsin 69 in New Glarus.
Aguilar was found to have a revoked license and no proof of vehicle insurance. The arresting officer also detected the scent of alcohol on Aguilar's breath.
Although Aguilar claimed to have only drunk two bottles of beer before driving, he was found to have a blood alcohol content of .104 percent. Aguilar also owes $1,469 in court fees.
Aguilar was also arrested on three Dane County warrants. Aguilar's previous drunk driving offenses took place outside of Wisconsin.
