Accepted resignations from Barbara Lane, Monroe Middle School food service, and Jennifer Thayer, director of curriculum and instruction for the district. It approved an internal staff transfer for Annette Voegeli, Abraham Lincoln Accelerated Learning Academy. It also hired Shannon Van Ess as Abe Lincoln kindergarten teacher; Brianna Moser, Abe Lincoln kindergarten teacher; Allison Carroll, Parkside first-grade teacher; Ashley Kittoe, Parkside fifth-grade teacher; and Beth Toutges, Monroe High Schoool/Abe Lincoln weekend security.
Learned the district will purchase American Literature materials from McDougal Littell for MHS. The cost is just less than $9,000.
Heard an update from Abe Lincoln Principal Tina Van Meer and Special Education teacher Tracy Bristow that the school is making good progress on its Accelerated Schools initiatives. Schools following the program are assessed annually. For this year, Abe Lincoln's third year to be assessed, the school is meeting most of the standards set forth.
Approved purchasing 180 computers from Dell and 180 Acer monitors from. The total cost of the computers and monitors will be about $100,000.
Approved purchasing HP technology switches for Parkside and Abe Lincoln schools from CDWG for a total cost of $24,000.
