MONROE - Monroe Arts Center will host its 2014 Holiday Silent Auction from Saturday through Dec. 13 in Wesley Hall at MAC, 1315 11th St. The annual holiday shopping tradition provides a wide variety of gifts.
The fundraiser for MAC features hundreds of items donated by individuals and businesses from Monroe, southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. The auction opening night is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday. To help kick off the auction opening is the 7:30 p.m. performance by the Milwaukee trio, The WhiskeyBelles. Reserved seat tickets are $25 and $20 for adults, and $10 for students.

This year's auction categories are: Original art and handcrafted items; holiday books and music; home and garden; clothing and jewelry, collectibles; health and beauty; sports and recreation; theater, entertainment, and getaways; restaurant and specialty dinners; baked goods and specialty foods; and this and that.
Auction items include handcrafted seasonal centerpieces; art objects; jewelry; golf packages; theater tickets to "Pippin" and "First Wives Club" in Chicago; traditional Swiss dinner for four; gift certificates; Green Bay Packer collectibles; gardening consultation by a master gardener; autographed Rickie Weeks Milwaukee Brewers jersey; variety of gift baskets; homemade candies, breads, cookies, cakes, pies, jams and jellies; numerous gift certificates; Tom Tom GPS; and Olympus Digital Camera.
Final bids will be accepted up until 7:15 p.m. Dec. 13 prior to the 7:30 p.m. performance by Madison's Mt. Zion Gospel Choir.
