MONROE - The Green County Council of the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary honored four public service personnel at the monthly meeting in Monticello on Sunday.
Rachel Anderson of the New Glarus Area Emergency Medical Service received the award as the EMT of the Year. The Fireman of the Year was Trent Gerber of the Brodhead Fire Protection District. The Law Officer of the Year was Lt. Jeff Sturdevant of the New Glarus Police Department. The Enlisted National Guard/Reservist of the Year was Staff Sgt. James D. Hataway of the 994th Air Force Reserve Security Forces Squadron.
The honorees were recognized for their services to the citizens of communities in Green County. Examples of the special sacrifices made by each of the honorees were provided by their supervisors.
