MONROE — Emily Legel has been named Executive Director of Green County Development Corporation (GCDC).
GCDC is a multi-jurisdictional economic development corporation designed to bring professional economic development expertise to its member communities. In her new role, Legel will lead GCDC initiatives, and serve as a key resource and advocate for economic development in Green County.
Legel joins GCDC from NW Illinois Economic Development Corp., where she served in a similar capacity as its Executive Director. She will begin her duties with GCDC on March 14.

A Wisconsin native, Legel earned her master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning with focuses in Economic Development and Housing and Community Development from the University of Iowa. In her free time, she enjoys knitting, crocheting, ballroom dancing and spending time with her two cats and dog.
