PECATONICA — Illinois State Police District 16 Commander, Lieutenant Joseph Blanchette, has announced District 16 enforcement figures and activity for the month of Feb.

Illinois State Police District 16 Troopers issued 464 total citations and 626 written warnings during the month of Feb. Speed violations accounted for 181 citations. Twenty-nine citations were issued for occupant restraint violations and 23 enforcement documents were issued for distracted driving violations. 

Troopers investigated 28 traffic crashes and assisted 79 motorists. One hundred-forty commercial motor vehicle inspections were completed with 20 drivers and/or vehicles being placed out of service.

Troopers made 12 arrests for driving under the influence and 19 criminal arrests. Ten enforcement documents were issued for Scott’s Law violations. 

District 16, which encompasses Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Winnebago, and Boone Counties, had 5 traffic fatalities in Feb.
