MONROE - Chandra Pelikan has been appointed executive director of Green Haven Family Advocates, board president Greg Wild announced Friday.
Lynn Brooks was named assistant executive director.
They replace Alice Franks-Gray, who resigned as executive director Feb. 16.
"Chandra has been with Green Haven for nearly nine years as program director, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new responsibilities," Wild said.
Brooks has been with Green Haven for more than a year. Before her promotion, she was administrative assistant for Green Haven. Brooks has almost 10 years experience in the domestic violence field, having worked in Rockford, Ill., before joining Green Haven.
Brooks said she looks forward to her new responsibilities.
"I look forward to fostering a healthy agency and being able to reach more people in Green and Lafayette county," Brooks said.
"They each bring their own unique experience and abilities to us in a time of great need for our county," Wild said.
Green Haven Family Advocates is a community-based, not-for-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the individuals and families of Green County affected by abuse and violence through prevention education, advocacy, support and services.
In 2009, Green Haven helped 309 women, 16 children, and 45 men. The organization received 1,694 calls to its crisis line in 2009.
