This photograph is another taken from "A Glimpse Back In Time," a book that contains 166 photographs taken by Will E. Trukenbrod about 100 years ago. The photos in this book always leave us with many unanswered
questions. However, the fashions, vehicles, and background buildings make the photos very interesting. It is known that this scene looks south in the 800 block of 16th Avenue. The brick building in the background, which was built in 1913, houses the phone company and is on the corner of 9th Street. Part of the back of the former Ludlow Library can be seen on the right side of the photo. Unfortunately, it is unknown who the little boy is or why he was standing by the tree looking so concerned. Books published by the Green County Historical Society are available at Sequels Fine Interior Consignments and Schultz Pharmacy. Questions may be directed to Matt Figi at 325-6503 or mfigi48@tds.net.
