JUDA - Green County Dairy Days will take place Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23.
The Queen's Banquet will be Friday at the Juda Community Center and Juda Fire Station, 2350 County S. "Moo-tails" will be served at 7 p.m., and the banquet is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Each of the community Dairy Queens will answer a question at the banquet. The question is not announced until the banquet, and each girl is asked the same question. During the day, the girls will take part in individual judging as well as a tour of Ahren's Acres. The Outstanding Older and Younger Agribusiness/Farmwives and Oldest Active Farm Couple will be recognized. A meal will be also served. Ticket prices are $10 in advance for adults ($12 at the door) and $6 in advance for children age 8 or under ($8 at the door), and they are available from any Dairy Queen, at all branches of the Sugar River Bank and Woodford Bank, and also available by contacting Jody Makos at (608) 934-5347 or by emailing jodymak@tds.net.
On Saturday, the Dairy Days parade will take place at 1 p.m. The parade lineup begins on Middle Juda Road, then travels onto County S and heads west on Main Street. There will be candy for the kids, as well as milk handed out during the parade. The Green County Ag Chest ice cream trailer will be parked by the community center. Following the parade, the 2012-2013 Green County Dairy Queen and Princess will be chosen. The winner of the coloring and poster contests will also be announced.
