TOWN OF ALBANY — As of press time on Dec. 27, local authorities had not yet released the name of the victim of a fatal car crash in the Town of Albany early on Christmas Eve. A passenger also was injured in the crash.
Just after 3:45 a.m., Green County Sheriff’s Deputies — along with Albany EMS, Green County EMS, and Albany Fire Department personnel — responded to the W2300 block of CTH EE, for a report of a single vehicle crash with serious injury.
An investigation, authorities said, determined a red 1999 Ford Ranger eastbound on CTH EE entered a gravel ditch on the southside of the road. After reportedly overcorrecting, the truck entered the North ditch, traveled down a steep embankment; and rolled over into a field, coming to rest on its roof.
One male subject died at the scene as a result of his injuries. A second injured male occupant was located in the field and transported to Monroe Clinic Hospital by Albany EMS.
According to Green County officials, the Rock County Sheriff’s Department Reconstruction Team assisted with performing scene reconstruction. The crash, the sheriff’s office said, remains under investigation.
