The Darlington Police Department, Fire Department, and two ambulances from Lafayette County EMS were dispatched to a truck versus buggy crash on Main Street in Darlington on Sunday, May 14, at 2:16 p.m.

The investigation revealed a truck being operated west on Ann Street by Chris Byl, 66, of Darlington, failed to yield the right-of-way to a buggy southbound on Main Street. The buggy was operated by Daniel King, age 41, of Darlington.

King’s wife and three children were in the buggy, which overturned during the collision. Daniel King and his wife were transported by EMS to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County. Two of their children were treated by EMS at the scene. The third one was not injured, nor was the driver of the truck.
