MONROE - The Monroe Police Department, Green County Sheriff's Department, Lafayette County Sheriff's Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol are partnering to enforce seatbelt and drunken driving laws March 12 through March 21.
"Our intensified enforcement will help save lives and reduce serious injuries from traffic crashes," Monroe Police Department Capt. James Kosek said.
The department's goal is to increase voluntary compliance with Wisconsin's mandatory seatbelt law, he added.
The enforcement is part of a $16,000 grant the Monroe Police Department received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Bureau of Transportation Safety, Kosek said.
