Lafayette County Sheriff
DARLINGTON — On Thursday, Oct. 18:
● Chimaobi R. Uzobuihe, 37, Fitchburg, reported hitting a deer at 2:51 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Kendall. No injuries were reported. Uzobuihe’s 2007 Toyota sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
● Lori A. Redfearn, 47, Shullsburg, reported hitting a deer at 6:40 p.m. on Wisconsin 11, Town of New Diggings. No injuries were reported. Redfearn’s 2018 Toyota sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
● Lee A. Boeck, 68, Albany, reported hitting a deer at 7:29 p.m. on County N, Town of Argyle. No injuries were reported. Boeck’s 2008 Toyota sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
● John A. Witmer, 29, Argyle, reported hitting a deer at 11:13 p.m. on County G, Town of Argyle. No injuries were reported. Witmer’s 2004 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
On Friday, Oct. 19:
● Thomas M. Diver, 19, Palatka, Florida, reported hitting a deer at 3 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot. No injuries were reported. His 2015 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage and was towed.
On Saturday, Oct. 20:
● Virginia M. Holland, 59, Scales Mound, Illinois, reported hitting a deer at 5:30 a.m. on
County W, Town of New Diggings. No injuries were reported. Her 2001 Mercury sustained minor damage.
● Richard E. Ruf, 60, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 6:56 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. No injuries were reported. His 2018 Dodge sustained minor damage.
On Sunday, Oct. 21:
● Nelson Thomas, 60, Kayenta, Arizona, reported hitting a deer at 7:06 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne. Thomas’ 2016 Ford sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. South Wayne First Response, the South Wayne Fire Department and Green County EMS assisted on scene.
Monroe Police
MONROE — A two-vehicle accident with injuries was reported at the intersection of Wisconsin 69 and 8th Street at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18. Delbert E. Rosenstiel, 75, rural Monroe, was eastbound on 8th Street when he collided with a northbound vehicle on Wis. 69 driven by a 32-year-old Monroe woman. She was transported by Green County EMS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Neither Rosenstiel nor his passenger requested medical treatment. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed. Rosenstiel was cited for failure to yield right of way at a flashing red signal light.
Green County Sheriff
MONROE — Jakobi L. Dammen, 26, Argyle, reported he was uninjured after his vehicle caught on fire near the intersection of Steiner Road and Franklin Road in the Town of Clarno at 6:59 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18. He told responding deputies he was northbound on Steiner Road when the vehicle caught on fire. He was able to put out the fire on his own. The damaged vehicle was left at the scene.
On Saturday, Oct. 20:
● No injuries were reported at 12:21 a.m. from a cow vs. vehicle crash in the N1800 block of County K, Town of Jefferson. Darwin D. Williams, 60, Monroe, was northbound when he hit a cow in the roadway. His vehicle sustained severe damage but he continued driving to his residence and reported the accident to the sheriff’s office later. The cow died. Williams was cited for failure to notify law enforcement of an accident and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
● An unoccupied, severely damaged vehicle found in the east ditch was reported at 4:43 a.m. in the N9300 block of County CC, Town of Exeter. Investigation revealed the vehicle was northbound when it crossed the center line. The vehicle appeared to have overcorrected and gone into the east ditch, where it overturned one time and came to rest on its tires. The driver then fled the scene. Deputies had the vehicle towed. The driver was later identified as Michael J.E. Raab, 23, Argyle. He told deputies he was the only occupant in the vehicle and lost control of it due to several deer in the roadway. He reported no injuries. He was cited for failure to notify law enforcement of an accident and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
● Elsbeth R. Hohn, 83, Cedar Grove, was taken by Belleville EMS to the Monroe Clinic ER for treatment of injuries she sustained in a one-vehicle crash reported at 11:03 a.m. in the N8200 block of County D, Town of Exeter. She was southbound when she lost control on a curve, went into the west ditch and collided with a tree. Her airbags deployed. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed. The Belleville Fire Department assisted on scene.
