MONROE — On Saturday, Nov. 17:
● No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 7:06 a.m. in the Town of Monroe. Justin R. Shackle, 18, Tinley Park, Illinois, was westbound on Sunset Hills Lane when he failed to yield right-of-way and hit a northbound vehicle on Aebly Road driven by Joshua R. Berget, 36, Monroe. Berget’s truck had moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Shackle’s vehicle had severe damage and was later towed from the scene. Shackle was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control. The snow-covered road was a factor in the crash.
● Thomas J. Fry, 16, Albany, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash reported at 8:21 a.m. in the W2100 block of Wis. 59, Town of Albany. He was eastbound when he lost control on the snow-covered road. His vehicle left the road and overturned. It sustained severe damage and was towed.
● Michael J. Landen, 44, Albany, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash reported at 10:57 a.m. in the W2000 block of County EE, Town of Albany. He was exiting a DNR parking area when he misjudged the entrance and went into the ditch, causing moderate damage to his truck. The truck was driven from the scene.
On Monday, Nov. 19:
● John D. Halverson, 87, Monroe, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash reported at 10:57 a.m. in the N6800 block of Hefty Road, Town of Washington. He was northbound in a truck pulling a gravity box when he lost traction on the ice-covered road, slid backward and collided with a power pole. The gravity box overturned in the ditch, spilling a load of soybeans. The truck did not have any damage and was driven from the scene.
● Michelle L. Soddy, 34, Monroe, was injured in a deer vs. vehicle crash reported at 4:58 p.m. in the N4000 block of Wis. 69, Town of Monroe, but declined to be transported by EMS. The airbags deployed in the vehicle, which sustained severe damage and was towed. The Monroe Fire Department and Green County EMS assisted deputies.
On Friday, Nov. 23:
● Amelia E. Brunner, 31, Monroe, reported injuries from a deer vs. vehicle crash at 6:29 p.m. in the N6100 block of Wis. 69, Town of Mount Pleasant, but declined medical attention. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed. The airbags deployed. The deer was located deceased in the ditch.
● No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 7:39 p.m. in the Town of Monroe. Donald J. Alexander, 23, Monroe, was northbound on County N when he reported that his brakes failed at the intersection with Wis. 81. His vehicle continued through the intersection and he turned eastbound onto Wis. 81. His vehicle then crossed the centerline and side-swiped a vehicle driven by Robert G. Halvorsen, 66, Monroe. The airbags in Alexander’s vehicle deployed and the vehicle sustained severe damage. It was towed. Alexander was cited for operating left of center and for an instructional permit violation. A passenger, Jamie L. Churchill, 39, Monroe, was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt. Halvorsen’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed. Halvorsen was cited for no seatbelt.

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, Nov. 15:
● No injuries were reported at 5:10 p.m. from a one-vehicle accident on Salty Hollow Road, Town of Gratiot. Bruce A. Tuescher, 56, Darlington, was exiting a driveway driving a 2000 Freightliner semi-truck and trailer. As the semi-truck entered the road, the trailer went into the ditch, causing the semi-truck to jackknife. It was driven from the scene.
● A hit-and-run accident was reported at 8:34 p.m. on County W, Town of Gratiot. As a result, Jacob W. Buchanan, 45, Warren, was cited for failure to keep a vehicle under control, failure to file an accident report, hit-and-run on property adjacent to a highway and driving without vehicle insurance. The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
