Monroe Police

MONROE — A two-vehicle crash with no injuries was reported at 9:16 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. Brittany M. Blum, 31, Monticello, was westbound on 13th Street when she rear-ended a vehicle stopped in traffic waiting to turn left onto 22nd Avenue, driven by a 17-year-old Monroe girl. Both vehicles sustained major damage. Blum’s vehicle was towed. Blum was cited for inattentive driving.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On Friday, Nov. 9:

•  Kyle J. Cessna, 24, Brodhead, was treated for injuries at the scene of a single-vehicle rollover crash reported at 7:19 a.m. in the N7600 block of Wis. 104, Town of Brooklyn. Cessna was northbound when he reported that he slid on an icy spot. His vehicle crossed the centerline, struck the ditch with the front driver’s side tire and overturned, coming to rest on its tires. The vehicle sustained severe overall damage and was towed. The southbound lane of traffic was closed during the investigation of the accident. Evansville EMS, the Evansville Fire Department and Rock County sheriff’s deputies assisted at the scene. 

n Amanda N. Chandler, 31, Blanchardville, and her passengers reported no injuries from a one-vehicle accident at 7:47 a.m. in the W8700 block of Wis. 39, Town of York. Chandler was eastbound when she lost control. The vehicle went off the north side of the road and collided with a traffic sign post and a utility pole. Chandler’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed.

•  Willis L. Burrow Jr., 54, Freeport, and his passengers were treated for injuries at the scene of a single-vehicle rollover crash reported at 10:05 p.m. in the N100 block of County G, Town of Spring Grove. Burrow was southbound when he tried to avoid hitting a deer, lost control of the vehicle and entered the east ditch. The vehicle overturned, coming to rest on its roof. The vehicle sustained severe overall damage and was towed. Brodhead EMS and Brodhead First Response assisted on scene.

On Sunday, Nov. 11:

•  No injuries were reported from an accident at 12:02 p.m. in the W1500 block of Town Center Road, Town of Spring Grove. Nancy L. Becker, 74, Juda, was westbound when a piece of wood fell from an eastbound trailer on a vehicle driven by Doug C. Zettle, 57, Brodhead. Becker was unable to avoid striking the wood, and as a result, lost control of her vehicle and entered the ditch. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed. Zettle was cited for failure to secure load.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, Nov. 8:

•  Jackson C. Rindy, 18, Blanchardville, reported hitting a deer at 4:49 a.m. on County F, Town of Blanchard. No injuries were reported. Rindy’s 2009 Nissan sustained minor damage.
