Green County Sheriff
MONROE — Brandon J. Wenger, 38, Monroe, sustained non-life threatening injuries in a rollover crash at 9:57 p.m. May 4 in the W4100 block of Wis. 11, Town of Sylvester. He was westbound when he lost control. The vehicle overturned, sustaining disabling damage with airbag deployment. Wenger reported he was not wearing a seatbelt. He was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence of alcohol, then released pending court.
● Gabriel L. Ottoway, 23, Mineral Point, was uninjured in a rollover crash reported at 1:42 p.m. May 6 in the W4300 block of County FF, Town of Sylvester. He was eastbound in a straight truck hauling fertilizer when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The truck exited the road and rolled over. It sustained severe damage and was later towed. Fertilizer leaked, and the road was closed about four hours while the spill was cleaned up. The Green County Highway Department assisted with traffic control.

MONROE — A three-vehicle accident was reported at 5:04 p.m. May 8 in the 700 block of 8th Street. Monte J. Liphart, 55, Browntown, was westbound when his vehicle rear-ended a stopped vehicle waiting for a green light on 8th Street at Wis. 69. The impact caused the stopped vehicle to hit a third vehicle ahead of it that was also stopped and waiting to turn at the light. Two of the three vehicles were driven from the scene. The third was towed. Liphart was cited for inattentive driving.
Lafayette County Sheriff
DARLINGTON — No injuries were reported from an accident involving two vehicles at 8:52 p.m. May 8 on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. Carmelita Nichols, 47, Des Moines, Iowa, was northbound when a wheel fell off her 1996 Toyota. The car came to rest along the side of the road. Meanwhile, James J. Reuter, 41, Belmont, was northbound in his 2017 Ram and did not see the debris in the road. He hit the tire, damaging the oil pan of his truck. The truck came to rest on the side of the road. Both vehicles were towed with moderate damage. Nichols was cited for driving without a valid license, no vehicle insurance and not having a child properly restrained. Her passengers, Joyce R. Cameron, 44, and Codyone J. T. Cameron, 26, both of Des Moines, were also cited for not having a child properly restrained.
● No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 3:03 a.m. May 10 on County D, Town of Lamont. Jeremy R. Gaylord, 33, Hanover, Illinois, was southbound when his 2002 Dodge entered the ditch and went through a fence before coming to rest in a field. He was arrested and jailed on charges of operating while intoxicated and possessing methamphetamine and methamphetamine paraphernalia. He was also cited for open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. The Dodge sustained minor damage. It was towed.
● Zachary A. Wiegel, 19, Shullsburg, reported hitting a deer at 9:35 p.m. May 10 on Johnson Road, Town of Shullsburg. No injuries were reported. The 2009 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
