Werner C. Bahler, age 84, of Monroe, died on Sunday, February 17, 2008, at this home. He was born February 23, 1923, in Lamont, Wisconsin, the son of Arnold and Marie (Zurcher) Bahler and attended Darlington High School.

Werner and Vivian O. Swenson Beem were married on October 3, 1959, at Darlington, Wisc. Werner farmed, worked for Green County Highway Department and was owner and proprietor of New Frontier Trailer Park.

Surviving are his children Anita (Thomas) Hauri of Tucson, Ariz., Robert (Sandy) Beem of Memphis, Tenn., Richard (Becky) Beem of Wilmette, Ill., Laurie (Jamon) Tipton of Atlanta, Ga., Dave Bahler of Monroe, Wisc., and Ken (Kit Korth) Bahler of Monroe, Wisc.; brother Robert Daniel of Atlanta, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Vivian; brothers, Walter and Jesse; and sisters Leona Hanson and Rosie Steinman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue in Monroe, with Pastor Roger Olsen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund is being established in Werner's memory.
