Virginia A. "Ginny" Creamer age 78 of Monroe, died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Ginny was born September 23, 1934 in Darlington, WI, the daughter of Ralph and Josie (McMannes) Andrews. She graduated from Darlington High School in 1952 and earned a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education from Wisconsin State College, Platteville, in 1956. Ginny married Richard H. Creamer on August 11, 1957 in Darlington. She taught school in the Phillipines while Dick was stationed at Clark Air Force Base before they moved to Monroe in 1959. Ginny taught kindergarten and second grade at Northside Elementary School in Monroe for many years until retiring in 1994. She always enjoyed connecting with past and present students of the Monroe Public Schools. She was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church where she was active in the Choir, Bell Choir, and Quilt Ministry. Ginny was a wonderful quilt maker who enjoyed quilting with her friends and giving the quilts as gifts for others to enjoy. She was also a longtime member of the A.D.K. Teaching Sorority.
She is survived by a daughter, Julie (Joel) Griessmeyer of Sheboygan; a son, Peter (Nancy) Creamer of Waunakee; four grandchildren, Brandon and Nathaniel Creamer, Alexander and Madison Griessmeyer; two step grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Luedtke and Benjamin Griessmeyer; three step great-grandchildren; a sister, Mavis Steil of Janesville; and a brother, Ralph (Sherry) Andrews of Green Bay. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick, on March 2, 2010; a sister, Phyllis Curry; and two brothers, Paul and Kenneth Andrews.
A celebration of Ginny's life will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Booth officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Private burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Virginia's name to the Monroe United Methodist Church. The Newcomer Funeral Home is assisting the family.
