MONROE - Two sex offenders will be returning to Monroe around Jan. 9 after serving their sentences.

Gary J. Dunlavey, 48, and Jeffrey H. Bahn, 50, will be returning to Monroe on or about Jan. 9.

Dunlavey abducted and sexually assaulted a female acquaintance from a local business in 1988 by use of a weapon.

He was convicted in July 1989 and was supposed to serve consecutive sentences of 14 and 18 years in prison. The 14-year sentence was stayed, but reinstated when Dunlavey violated parole.

According to information provided by Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley, Dunlavey was released from prison three times prior to this release but returned to prison after he violated parole rules.

Dunlavey is 6 feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

He will be living at 1317 17th St., in Monroe and will be under 24-hour electronic monitoring.

Jeffrey H. Bahn, 50, will be returning to Monroe on or about Jan. 9 after serving his sentence.

Bahn falsely imprisoned and sexually assaulted a female acquaintance in a residence in 1995, by force and threat of a weapon.

Bahn was convicted in January of 1996 and served consecutive sentences of five and seven years in prison.

Bahn is 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Bahn will be living at 1011 27th St., in Monroe and will be under 24-hour electronic monitoring.

Police Chief Fred Kelley said his department will keep tabs on the two men.

"They will be closely supervised by probation and parole agents," Kelley said.

Dunlavey and Bahn will also be subject to frequent, unannounced visits by agents.

Both men are forbidden to have contact with their victims and can't have unapproved meetings with minors. They cannot consume alcohol or illegal drugs, and can't go to bars, taverns or liquor stores. They cannot have relationships with women without prior approval.

If either man violates any of these rules, he will be taken into custody pending review of possible revocation proceedings, Kelley added.

Witnessed violations should be reported to the Monroe Police Department at 329-2400.
