MONROE - Two Monroe men are facing a dozen charges each that they conspired in a string of recent thefts in the area.
Dustin Michael Dean, 23, and Donald David Graves, 34, were charged in Green County Circuit Court with multiple Class A misdemeanor counts of theft, criminal damage to property and entry into a locked vehicle.
Graves also faces a Class I felony charge of possessing four pills of the narcotic pain drug Levorphanol without a prescription and misdemeanor charges of possessing a crack pipe and lying to an officer with the Monroe Police Department.
Dean also faces a misdemeanor charge of possessing three pot pipes.
According to a criminal complaint filed Thursday, June 14:
- On Monday, April 30, Dean and Graves worked together to break into and steal property from two cars parked at the Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Ave., and a car parked at Walmart, 300 6th Ave. W.
- On Monday, May 7, Dean and Graves broke into a car parked in the 2000 block of 17th Street.
- On Tuesday, June 12, Dean and Graves broke into and stole property from a car parked in the lot at Pleasant View Park in the N3300 block of County N just north of Monroe.
Their signature bonds were set Thursday at $2,500 for Dean and $4,000 for Graves.
Dean has a pre-trial conference set for Tuesday, July 24. Graves' preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, July 10.
