MONROE - No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident and a two-vehicle accident at about 7 a.m. Tuesday on Wisconsin 69 south of Exeter Crossing in the Town of New Glarus. Deputies report Paul E. Rufener, 59, rural New Glarus, lost control of his vehicle and his vehicle went into the ditch on the east side of Wis. 69. When Stephen J. Scanlan, 54, Monticello, driving a second vehicle, stopped to assist Rufener, Natasha R. Teasdale, 18, Monroe, driving a third vehicle, lost control and collided with Scanlan's vehicle. The Scanlan and Teasdale vehicle sustained moderate damages and were driven from the scene. The Rufener vehicle was not damaged. Slippery road conditions were a contributing factor in the crash.

No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at about 6 p.m. Tuesday on Wis. 69 at Peerless Road in the Town of New Glarus. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Kaitlyn H. Field, 17, Mt. Horeb, was southbound behind a vehicle operated by Kenneth E. Zimmerman, 54, New Glarus. Zimmerman had to brake rapidly to avoid striking a vehicle in front of him. Field was unable to stop quickly enough and collided with Zimmerman. The Field vehicle received moderate damage, and the Zimmerman vehicle received minor damage. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Field was cited for graduated driver's license violation - having unauthorized passengers and was released pending court.
