Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Dustin L. Nelsen, 37, Madison, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash on County J near Holstein Prairie Road, Town of Adams. Nelsen was northbound on County J when he attempted to pass a pickup truck towing a pontoon boat in a no passing zone. Nelsen lost control of his vehicle while attempting to pass and slid into the west ditch. His vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene. Nelsen was cited at 2:04 p.m. for passing in a no passing zone and released pending court.

On Saturday:

• Nicholas William Lee Nyman, 19, rural Juda, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Condon Road at County E, Town of Decatur. Nyman was southbound on Condon Road approaching a yield sign when he reported to deputies that his brakes failed. Nyman attempted to turn onto County E when his vehicle entered the ditch and hit a utility pole. Nyman was transported via Brodhead EMS to Monroe Clinic Hospital for treatment of his injuries. His vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene. Nyman was arrested at 1:50 p.m. for driving while intoxicated. He was also cited for no vehicle insurance, a seatbelt violation, driving after suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia. Nyman was released to a responsible party. Alliant Energy fixed the damaged portion of the utility pole.

• Phyllis A. Goodsell, 73, Freeport, was uninjured in a one-car crash in the N2900 block of County OK, Town of Decatur. Goodsell was northbound and negotiating a curve when she reportedly fell asleep. The car went across the oncoming lane and into the west ditch where it hit a traffic sign post. The vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

• Steven A. Ruegsegger, 64, Monticello, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle accident that occurred in the W6400 block of Dividing Ridge Road, Washington Township, at 11:33 a.m. Sunday. Ruegsegger, was westbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his vehicle. The vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Saturday:

• Phyllis J. Wells, 55, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer with a vehicle at 11:15 a.m. on Larse Road, Wayne Township.

• John R. Argall, 47, South Wayne, sustained injuries in a one-vehicle rollover accident on County D, Wayne Township. Argall was southbound when he failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of his vehicle, which rolled over. Argall was cited at 5:05 p.m. for driving while intoxicated, failure to have control of a vehicle, no valid driver's license and open intoxicants. South Wayne Fire Department, South Wayne First Response and Monroe Ambulance assisted at the scene.

• Terry R. Kienzle, 58, Cuba City, reported hitting a deer with a vehicle at 8:31 p.m. on County I, Elk Grove Township.

On Sunday:

• Will H. Herman, 16, Argyle, reported hitting a deer with a vehicle on Old Q Road, Argyle Township, at 6:46 a.m.

• William M. Theobald, 55, Blanchardville, reported hitting a deer with a vehicle at 11:06 a.m. on County F, Fayette Township.

• A deputy is investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred at 12:03 p.m. on Rock Road, Kendall Township.

• Eric C. Brunn, 42, Galena, sustained injuries in a one-motorcycle accident on Ollie Bell Road, New Diggings Township. Brunn failed to negotiate a corner and went off the roadway. Brunn fled the scene and was later located by telephone. Brunn's Harley Davidson motorcycle sustained damage and was towed from the scene. Brunn was cited at 1:49 p.m. for failure to keep control of a vehicle and failure to notify law enforcement of an accident. Benton Fire Department, Benton First Response and Hazel Green Ambulance assisted at the scene.

• One person was injured in a two-motorcycle crash on County G, Argyle Township, at 2:20 p.m. Pattie A. MaGuire, 53, Indenhurst, Ill., was on County G approaching Wisconsin 81 when she came to a stop at a stop sign and was hit from behind by another motorcycle driven by Walter H. Rateike, 82, Grayslake, Ill. Rateike was unable to stop in time and was uninjured. MaGuire received minor injuries. MaGuire's bike and Rateike's bike were both driven from the scene. Argyle Fire Department and Argyle Ambulance assisted at the scene.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident on Elmer Road at Kubly Road at 1:41 p.m. Wednesday. William J. Deters, 50, Sauk City, was attempting to back up a semi tractor-trailer when the semi hit a mailbox and a fire hydrant.
