MONROE - Clark W. Bennett, 51, Shullsburg, was transported by ambulance for treatment of injuries he sustained in a milk truck accident reported at 3:07 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1. Deputies, the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Department of Natural Resources and New Glarus Police, Fire and EMS responded to the crash on Pioneer Road at Titus Lane in New Glarus Township. Bennett was driving a milk truck eastbound when he reported a possible equipment failure caused him to lose control. The truck went off the road, hit a tree and continued down an embankment striking numerous trees on the way down before landing in a creek bed. The truck was severely damaged and towed. About 10 gallons of spilled oil had to be cleaned up from the accident scene. Bennett was not wearing a seatbelt and will be cited for that offense.
