Monroe Police

MONROE - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday at 18th Avenue and 17th Street. Police report a vehicle driven by Joyce E. Barnes, 65, Monroe, hit a vehicle driven by William O. Hocking, 51, Platteville. Barnes was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign and released pending court. The vehicles received moderate damage.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 8:45 a.m. Monday in the N1200 block of Twin Grove Road in Jefferson township. Deputies report the passenger side mirror on a vehicle driven by Kristina M. Foster, 31, Monroe, hit a mailbox. The mirror broke the side window. Foster sustained injuries but declined medical attention. The vehicle received minor damages.

• A vehicle driven by Joseph M. Minneci, 48, New Glarus, collided with a deer at about 7:15 p.m. Monday in the W6900 block of Pioneer Road. The vehicle received minor damage.

• A vehicle driven by Tashonarae R. Brown, 20, Monroe, collided with a deer at about 7:30 p.m. Monday in the N3800 block of County J.

• Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday at Wisconsin 11 and County GG in Spring Grove township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Cody T. Sulzer, 24, Monroe, failed to stop at the intersection and collided with a vehicle driven by Arnold E. Johnson, 81, Brodhead. Johnson and his passenger, Joan H. Johnson, 77, Brodhead, sustained injuries and were taken to the Monroe Clinic. Sulzer was arrested for drunken driving. He was jailed. The vehicles received extensive damage and were towed.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 6:45 p.m. Saturday on Klondike Road and Falk Road. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Stephani N. Foesch, 18, Monroe, failed to negotiate a turn and collided with an embankment. Foesch left the scene and didn't report the crash. She was cited for failure to report a vehicle crash and failure to maintain control of a vehicle. She was released pending court.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday in the N6500 block of Holstein Prairie Road in Adams township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by David S. Stampfli, 45, Blanchardville, swerved to avoid a deer and overturned. The vehicle received extensive damages and was towed.

• A vehicle driven by Joseph W. Drye, 58, Browntown, collided with a deer at about 11 p.m. Saturday on Wis. 69 south of County FF in Monroe township. The vehicle received moderate damage.

• A vehicle driven by Thomas O. Brobst, 66, Freeport, Ill., collided with a deer at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the N4500 block of County J in Monroe township. The vehicle received moderate damage.

• A vehicle driven by Howard A. Krupke, 77, Brodhead, collided with a deer at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the N6300 block of Wis. 104 in Albany township. The vehicle received moderate damage.

• A vehicle driven by Ryan R. Steuck, 23, Beloit, collided with a deer at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the W3500 block of Wis. 11 in Sylvester township. The vehicle received moderate damage.

• A vehicle driven by Timothy J. Bender, 45, Juda, collided with a deer at about 7:45 p.m. Sunday on County S north of Preston Road in Jefferson township. The vehicle received minor damage.

• A Green County Sheriff's Department squad car driven by Joe T. Youngblood, 23, Monroe, collided with a dog at about 10 p.m. Sunday in the W1600 block of County C in Brooklyn township. The car received minor damage. The dog was killed.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - A vehicle driven by Herb Tornow, 70, South Wayne, hit a deer at about 5:45 a.m. Monday on County D in Wayne township.

• One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident reported at about 8 a.m. Sunday that took place at about 1 a.m. Sunday on Wis. 11 in Wayne township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Amanda L. Schwartz, 19, South Wayne, left the road, went into a ditch and hit a utility box and several small trees. Schwartz told deputies she fell asleep as she was driving. She was cited for failure to have a vehicle under control and failure to notify police of an accident. Her vehicle received extensive damage and was towed.

• Juan Martinez, 21, Darlington, was arrested for drunken driving, driving without a license and failure to control a vehicle following a one-vehicle accident at about 3 a.m. Saturday on Center Drive Road in Seymour township. Deputies report he fell asleep and his vehicle went into a ditch, hit a utility pole and rolled onto its side. Belmont Ambulance, the Belmont Fire Department and Darlington Police Department assisted at the scene.

• Joseph J. Martin, 24, South Wayne, was arrested for drunken driving after a deputy saw his crashed vehicle at about 1 a.m. Saturday on Stuart Road in Wiota township. Martin was seen walking a short distance from the crash site. He was released pending court. No further information about the crash were available.

• A vehicle driven by Lorene Peterson, 55, Argyle, hit a deer at about 8:30 p.m. Friday on Wis. 78 in Argyle township.

• A vehicle driven by Tonya Miller, 33, Dubuque, Iowa, hit a deer at about 10 p.m. Friday on Wis. 23 in Darlington township.

• A vehicle driven by Thomas W. Edwards, 48, Belmont, hit a deer at about 8 a.m. Saturday on County O in Seymour township. His vehicle received moderate damage.

• A vehicle driven by Adrianna M. Hromadka, 17, Gratiot, hit a deer at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday on Wis. 78 in Gratiot township. The vehicle received moderate damage.Andrew Hellpap 10/19/09
