MONROE - On Friday:

• Minor injuries were reported in a motorcycle accident that occurred on Wisconsin 11 at County OK, Town of Jefferson. Kerry D. Thomas, 24, Dodgeville, was driving a cargo truck loaded with glass leaving a driveway in the W2500 block of Wis. 11 turning west onto Wis. 11. The glass cargo and the cargo holder on the truck tipped and fell out of the cargo box, smashing all the glass onto the pavement. Mark David Smerz, 62, Brookfield, was driving a motorcycle behind a semi-truck as the glass fell across the roadway. The semi-truck rapidly slowed down and went around the debris. Smerz was unable to slow and laid his bike on its left side and slid. Smerz reported injuries but declined EMS transport. All vehicles were driven from the scene. Tri State Custom Windows LLC was cited at 11:28 a.m. for failure to secure a load.

• Trenten D. Disch, 16, rural New Glarus, and his passenger were uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of County H and County N, Town of New Glarus. Disch was westbound on County H when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his vehicle. The vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

On Saturday:

• Blake E. Weber, 23, Brooklyn, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a rollover crash on Wis. 92 west of Legler Road, Town of Brooklyn. Weber had fled the scene with his dog and was later found at his residence where he told deputies he had been westbound on Wis. 92. Weber lost control of his vehicle over the crest of a hill and entered the ditch. He attempted to correct causing the vehicle to slide into an embankment. The vehicle overturned one time. Weber was transported to Monroe Clinic ER for his injuries. Weber was arrested at 5:51 a.m. for driving while intoxicated, first offense. He was also cited for driving left of center, failure to maintain control of a vehicle and failure to notify law enforcement of a crash. The dog was uninjured. Weber's vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene. He was released pending court. The Belleville Fire Department and Orangeville Police assisted.

• No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident in the N2200 block of Wis. 69, Town of Clarno. Samantha R. Lenning, 18, Winslow, Ill., was southbound when her left front tire came off and rolled into the northbound lane of traffic. David A. Gillingham, 50, Freeport, ran over the tire. His vehicle was moderately damaged. Lenning's vehicle received minor damage. Gillingham's vehicle was towed from the scene and Lenning's vehicle was removed by a private party. Lenning was cited at 4:08 p.m. for no valid driver's license and released pending court.

On Sunday:

• No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident in the 1400 block of Wis. 69, New Glarus Township. Sally M. Gehrts, 52, Belleville, was southbound and came to a complete stop to turn left into a business driveway. Justine Anne Romich, 17, New Glarus, was also southbound and did not see Gehrts' vehicle in the roadway. Romich hit the rear portion of Gehrts' vehicle. Gehrts' vehicle was severely damaged and Romich's vehicle sustained moderate damage; both vehicles were towed from the scene. Romich was cited at 3:36 p.m. for inattentive driving and released pending court.

• Robert J. Weeden, 16, Monroe, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a rollover crash that occurred in the W1900 block of Wis. 11, Town of Spring Grove, at 6:23 p.m. Weeden was westbound when his vehicle entered the north gravel shoulder. He attempted to correct causing the vehicle to skid across the roadway. He attempted to correct in the other direction causing the vehicle to slide sideways into the north ditch. The vehicle flipped over and came to rest upside down facing southwest. Weeden was assisted out of the vehicle by another motorist and later transported to Monore Clinic ER for possible injuries. His vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday:

• Neil P. Husom, 23, Monroe, reported injuries after his airbag deployed while he was driving on Wis. 81, Elk Grove Township, at 7:18 a.m. His passenger Stephanie A. Cowell, 23, was uninjured. A deputy, Platteville Fire and Platteville Ambulance assisted at the scene.

• Virgil L. Kingery Jr., 34, Gratiot, sustained non-life-threatening injuries when his motorcycle rolled over on County F, Fayette Township. Kingery's bike failed to negotiate a curve and slid off the south side of the roadway, rolling over. Kingery was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. The motorcycle was considered a total loss. Kingery was cited at 7:30 p.m. for DWI and for a driver's license violation.

• Donald G. Mick Jr., 35, Shullsburg, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle accident that occurred on County E, Darlington Township. Mick's vehicle was driven from the scene.

On Saturday:

• A vehicle started on fire as the result of a traffic accident that occurred on Shawnee Road, New Diggings Township. The driver had fled the scene prior to first responders' arrival. Dusty R.A. Weber, 23, Benton, was later located and identified as the driver of the 2006 Chevrolet pickup that started on fire. Weber was cited at 5:50 a.m. for hit-and-run damage to property adjacent to the roadway, failure to report an accident and no insurance. Weber reported no injuries. The pickup was northbound and traveled into a ditch where it hit a culvert coming to rest and igniting. The truck was extensively damaged and towed from the scene.

• Lonny S. Floen, 47, Chillicothe, Iowa, reported hitting a deer on Riverside Road, Gratiot Township, at 2:15 p.m.

• Christina Spratulat, 26, Botogota Columbia, was injured in a motorcycle accident on Wis. 11, Shullsburg, at 2:16 p.m. Spratulat was attempting to turn from Wis. 11 onto Miner Way when she lost control of the bike she was driving. Her hand was injured and she was transported to Lafayette County Memorial Hospital via Shullsburg EMS. Her 2009 Ducati motorcycle received minor damage.

• Jordan L. Gunser, 24, Brodhead, was injured in an ATV accident that occurred on private property near Sand Road, Argyle Township, at 5:05 p.m. Gunser was transported by a private vehicle to Monroe Clinic Hospital.

On Sunday:

• Stephanie L. Roberts, 19, Shullsburg, was uninjured after hitting a deer on County Q, Seymour Township, at 9:35 a.m. Roberts' vehicle was moderately damaged.
