Traffic Accidents: July 21, 2015

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Gloria L. Popp, 64, Freeport, reported hitting a deer at 8:31 p.m. Friday in the N5000 block of County J in the Town of Washington. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

On Saturday:

• Rick R. DeVoe, 56, Monroe, was cited for reckless driving after he reportedly hit parked cars and damaged a garage, at 6:33 p.m. in the W3700 block of County K in the Town of Jefferson. According to a news release issued by the Green County Sheriff's Department, DeVoe was reportedly "rapidly accelerating," and lost control of his car and struck three unoccupied parked cars, which all sustained damaged, as did a garage that one of the cars hit. DeVoe's car and two of the three parked cars were towed. Kathy A. DeVoe, 56, was cited for obstruction after she reportedly gave false information to police. Both DeVoes were released pending court.

• Shannon B. Bennett, 25, Brodhead, reported hitting a deer at 9:01 p.m. in the W8400 block of Wisconsin 81. No injuries were reported. Her vehicle sustained minor damage, and she drove it from the scene.

• Scott K. Shelton, 59, Monroe, reported hitting a deer at 9:34 a.m. Sunday on Wis. 69 at Advance Road in the Town of Clarno. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Saturday:

• Francis Roche, 24, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 12:05 a.m. on County Z in the Town of Darlington.

• James McDonald, 22, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer at 9:28 a.m. on Club Hollow Road in the Town of Gratiot.

• Minor damage was reported after Raymond Towne, 24, Browntown, backed his car into a car owned by Judith Escalona, 72, Browntown, at 7:05 p.m. Sunday on County M in the Town of Wiota.
