Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday:

• Jamie Welborn, 48, Darlington, reported hitting a deer with her vehicle on Wis. 11, New Diggings Township, at 6:19 p.m.

• Matthew Finkenbinder, 33, South Wayne, was uninjured in a one-vehicle accident on County D, Wiota Township, at 6:58 p.m. Finkenbinder was southbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and hit a ditch. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was towed from the scene.

On Sunday:

• Greg Johnsrud, 48, Monroe, reported hitting a deer with his vehicle on County N, Argyle Township, at 5:19 a.m.

• Nicholas Huber, 21, Blanchardville, reported hitting a deer with his vehicle on Wis. 78, Blanchardville Township, at 7:18 a.m.

On Monday:

• Kathleen A. Hammer, 52, Cuba City, was uninjured in a one-vehicle accident on Bean Street Road, Benton Township, at 12:50 p.m. Hammer was northbound when she attempted to avoid a deer in the roadway and lost control, causing her vehicle to hit a tree. The vehicle was severely damaged and was towed from the scene.

• Patrick H. Tribbey, 44, Argyle, reported hitting a deer with his vehicle on Wisconsin 78, Argyle Township, at 7:22 p.m.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Police responded to a hit-and-run vehicle crash in the 100 block of 4th Avenue, at 12:18 a.m. Saturday. Investigation revealed the suspect vehicle had backed into a legally parked vehicle and then fled the scene. The crash remains under investigation.



Monroe Police

MONROE - Minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident venue and Wisconsin 11, at 11:35 a.m. Monday. Rosella C. Lagenson, 86, Blanchardville, was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign after her vehicle hit a vehicle driven by a 28-year-old man from Portage. Lagenson declined medical treatment for her injuries at the scene.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - No injuries were reported after a semi-truck with an over-sized load hit the Wisconsin 59 overpass while eastbound on Wisconsin 11, at 2:27 p.m. Monday. Lynn Ray Overton, 51, Houston-Harris, Texas, was driving the over-sized truck with a three-piece trailer including a conversion dolly when the top of the load compacted against the bottom of the overpass. The aluminum trailer Overton was hauling was completely destroyed, but the semi and the combination trailer sustained no damage. The Wis. 59 overpass had been damaged, was inspected by the Department of Transportation and was deemed safe for travel. The westbound lane on Wis. 59 and the right-hand lane of Wis. 11 were closed for about four hours while debris could be cleared and for additional investigation. Signage has been set up in the area to assist motorists.
