New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 1:45 p.m. Dec. 9 on 14th Avenue. Police report Jeffrey A. Bouse, 41, Kenosha, was backing from a driveway when his pickup slid and struck a parked vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was not at home at the time. Both vehicles received minor damage. The investigation continues.

MONROE - Five people were injured in a one-vehicle rollover at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the W4600 block of Wisconsin 59. Deputies report Tyler S. Kraft, 20, Brodhead, stated he was negotiating a curve when he lost control on ice covered roadway, entered the ditch and the truck then rolled over. Kraft was wearing his seatbelt and suffered injuries. The front-middle passenger, Cecilia Zepeda, 25, Monroe, received injuries and was not wearing a seatbelt. The front-seat passenger, Nicole R. Zumkehr, 16, Monroe, received injuries and was not wearing a seatbelt. The rear-seat passenger behind the driver, Hannah L. Johnson, 18, Albany, received injuries and was not wearing her seatbelt. The rear, middle-seat passenger, Brittany K. Hinzpeter, 17, Albany, received injuries and was not wearing her seatbelt. The rear-seat passenger behind the front-seat passenger, Benjamin J. Stewart, 19, Brodhead, received no injuries and was wearing his seatbelt. Injured subjects were transported to Monroe Clinic Hospital by Monroe EMS or private vehicle. The vehicle received moderate damages and was towed from the scene. The incident remains under investigation and citations are pending. Monroe Fire Department and Monroe EMS responded also.

• One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 9:45 a.m. Saturday on County X, south of Hanna Road, in the Town of Exeter. Deputies report Brian R. Esser, 34, Belleville, was southbound on County X when he struck a northbound vehicle operated by Phillip J. Brueggman, 38, Belleville. Brueggman was turning left into a driveway and drove into the path of Esser's vehicle. Brueggman suffered an injury, but refused medical attention. Esser's vehicle was towed from the scene. Brueggman was able to drive his vehicle from the scene. Both vehicles received severe damage.

• One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 8 p.m. Sunday on Wis. 104, at Wis. 92, in the Village of Brooklyn. Deputies report Anita M. Kammerer, 60, Brodhead, was southbound on Wis. 104. Kammerer was stopped at a stop sign, then proceeded through the intersection, colliding with a vehicle operated by Jason P. Shaw, 38, DeForest, who was eastbound on Wis. 92. Kammerer sustained injuries from the crash. Shaw was not injured. Both vehicles received severe damage and were towed from the scene. High snow piles at the intersection and slippery road conditions were contributing factors to the crash.

• One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday in the W4000 block of Wis. 11, Town of Sylvester. Deputies report Nicole R. Haberman, 31, Brodhead, was westbound when she lost control of her vehicle on the ice-covered roadway, went in the ditch and overturned. Haberman received injuries and was transported to the emergency room by Albany EMS. The vehicle received severe damage and was towed from the scene. Juda Fire Department also responded.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 11:45 a.m. Saturday at County S and Wis. 11 in the Town of Jefferson. Deputies report Thomas G. Zimmerman, 51, Juda, was operating a Town of Sylvester snowplow truck and was stopped at a stop sign when he observed a semi wanting to turn onto County S. Zimmerman backed up to give the semi room to make the turn and backed into a vehicle driven by Tony S. Lancaster, 39, Monroe. Lancaster's vehicle received minor damage and Zimmerman's vehicle received no damage.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Stubbe Road, at Lawver road, in the Town of Cadiz. Deputies report Terral D. Dale, 46, Browntown, reported that he was at the intersection and a vehicle driven by Shelby S. Jarrett, 51, Browntown, struck his vehicle. Both vehicles were driven from the scene with moderate damage. The drivers had exchanged information with each other and left the scene prior to law enforcement arrival.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 9:15 a.m. Saturday, on Green Valley Road, near Hudson Road. Deputies report Vera E. Minkie, 20, Browntown, lost control of the vehicle on icy/snowy roadway and it went into the ditch. The vehicle received minor front- and right-side damage and was towed from the scene. Minkie was cited for driving with an expired license and was released pending court.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 8:15 p.m. Saturday in the area of County J and Buckskin Road. Deputies report Heather F. Norden, 25, Hollandale, lost control on snow-covered roadway, slid into the ditch, struck a fence and culvert. The vehicle received moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 8:15 p.m. Saturday on Wis. 59, in the N4500 Block, in the Town of Sylvester. Deputies report Debra Jean Lisser, 50, Albany, lost control of her vehicle on ice-covered roadway. The vehicle struck a road sign, received minor damage and was towed from the scene.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 9:16 p.m. Saturday in the W600 Block of Wis. 59 in the Town of Albany. Deputies report Meliton Valencia, 19, Albany, was eastbound when he lost control on snow-covered roadway. The vehicle left the roadway and overturned in a ditch, coming to a stop on its wheels. Valencia was cited for operating without a valid license and released pending court.

• A vehicle driven by Jessica L. Scace, 24, Monroe, collided with a deer at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday on County EE, west of Silver Road, in the Town of Mt. Pleasant. The vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 7:30 p.m. Friday in the W6000 block of Pioneer Road in New Glarus township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Deanna L. Watson, 29, Orem, Utah, hit some ice in the road, left the road and hit a power pole. The vehicle received moderate damage and was towed. Alliant Energy replaced the power pole.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 8:30 a.m. Friday on Dunphy Road in Albany township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Cassandra N. Quick, 29, Monticello, left the road and hit a mailbox due to slippery road conditions. The vehicle received moderate damage.

 

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 6:45 p.m. Sunday on Heller Court in Shullsburg. Deputies report Stanley F. Woodworth, 52, Shullsburg, was pulling from a driveway and struck a legally parked vehicle owned by Kelly Popp, Galena, Ill. Both vehicles received minor damage and were driven from the scene.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 5:30 a.m. Friday on County Shop Road in Darlington township. Police report Jennifer L. Crist, 33, Darlington, was eastbound and lost control as her vehicle hit a patch of black ice. The vehicle traveled across the roadway and struck a snowbank. the vehicle received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 3:30 p.m. Friday on County N in Wiota township. Police report Michael J. Ernzen, 50, South Wayne, was backing from a driveway and struck a southbound vehicle by Nolta J. Haldiman, 58, South Wayne. Both vehicles received moderate damage and were driven from the scene. Ernzen was cited for unsafe backing.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident reported at about 7 a.m. Saturday on Old Q Road in Argyle township. Police report Corey L. Gierhart, 17, Browntown, reported he was southbound the previous evening when he traveled into the ditch and became stuck in the snow. Gierhart walked to a nearby residence and did not report the accident. The vehicle received minor damage.

• Deputies reported a one-vehicle accident at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday on County F in Fayette township. Upon arrival at the scene, a deputy found a 2004 Ford Ranger that had been driven off the roadway and through a fence, coming to rest in a small creek. The drive had left the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement. The accident remains under investigation and charges are pending against the driver.

• Kathleen L. Helland, 58, Blanchardville, reported striking a deer at about 5 p.m. Saturday on Wisconsin 78 in Argyle township. The vehicle received moderate damage.Andrew Hellpap 12/14/09
