Traffic Accidents: August 9, 2016

BRODHEAD POLICE

BRODHEAD - On Wednesday, no injuries were reported at 9 p.m. after a two-vehicle collision in the 600 block of 1st Street. A 19-year-old Orfordville man was cited for following too closely.

On Friday, No injuries were reported at 6:27 p.m. after a vehicle struck a street sign in the 1900 block of East 2nd Avenue. Police are seeking a suspect to question.

On Saturday, a hit-and-run was reported at 2:36 a.m. in the 1100 block of West 2nd Avenue after a vehicle backed into another vehicle in a parking lot.



NEW GLARUS POLICE

NEW GLARUS - On Thursday, no injuries were reported at 10:54 a.m. after a vehicle backed into a rock in the 1400 block of 2nd Street.

On Friday, a hit-and-run was reported at 9:38 a.m. after a vehicle struck a parked vehicle in the 100 block of 4th Avenue. The incident remains under investigation.



GREEN COUNTY SHERIFF

MONROE - On Friday, a motorcyclist was injured at 5:20 p.m. on County G, Town of Spring Grove. Deborah R. Stietz, 49, Winslow, failed to negotiate a curve and entered a ditch, where the bike overturned and struck a guardrail. Stietz was thrown from the bike and was injured. She was transported to a Rockford hospital. Her motorcycle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

• No injuries were reported after Stephen P. Morstad, 60, Monroe, struck a deer on County Y, Town of Jordan.

• No injuries were reported after Philip L. Jones, 69, Albany, struck a deer in the W2300 block of Purintun Road, Town of Albany.

• No injuries were reported at 2 p.m. after a motorcycle accident in the W7800 block of Wis. 39, Town of York. James K. Hawley, 26, Cottage Grove, rear-ended an unknown vehicle that had pulled in front of him, causing his motorcycle to flip into a ditch. The other vehicle left the scene. Hawley was cited for failing to report an accident, driving without vehicle insurance and without a motorcycle endorsement. His motorcycle sustained minor damage.
