MONROE - Injuries were reported during a motorcycle accident at 3:28 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Balls Mill Road and Prien Road in the Town of Sylvester. Reports indicate that Darin S. Purdy, 46, Juda, was westbound on Balls Mill Road when he crested the hill at the intersection and failed to negotiate the curve. He entered a grassy area separating the intersection and lost control. The motorcycle overturned and came to rest in the grassy area. Purdy was not ejected and the motorcycle landed on him. Purdy had injuries from the crash but drove himself to the Monroe Clinic Hospital where he was treated and released. Purdy was wearing eye protection but was not wearing a helmet. The motorcycle had moderate damages.
- No injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at 3:31 p.m. Tuesday on Wisconsin 11/81, west of County G, in the Town of Spring Grove. A truck pulling a trailer driven by Cory A. McKay, 22, Kewaskum, was eastbound on Wis. 11/81 when an item fell off the trailer. The vehicle following the trailer, driven by Timothy P. Hittle, 33, Arlington Heights, Ill., saw the object fall off the trailer and was unable to avoid hitting the object due to oncoming traffic. He ran the object over, causing moderate undercarriage damage and the vehicle was later towed from the scene. McKay's vehicle was not damaged and was driven from the scene.
