MONROE - No injuries were reported Friday, March 28 in a two-vehicle accident in the 1200 block of 16th Avenue. Richard K. Wehinger, 68, Monroe, was driving a vehicle that hit another vehicle being driven by a 48-year-old woman from Monroe. Wehinger was cited for inattentive driving at 5:07 p.m.

MONROE - No injuries were reported Friday, March 28 in a two-vehicle crash in the N4500 block of County Highway E, Town of Decatur. Trevor A. Collins, 17, Brodhead, was northbound on County E when he lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve. Joseph D. Becherer, 18, Brodhead, was following Collins in another vehicle and stated he tried to brake but was unable to do so. Becherer then reportedly attempted to pass Collins' vehicle and the vehicles hit one another. Becherer's vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Collins' vehicle sustained severe damage and was driven from the scene. Collins was cited at 6:02 p.m. for failure to have a vehicle under control. Becherer was cited for following too close. After the collision, a passenger Chase A. Klemm, 18, Brodhead, caused a disturbance and was cited for disorderly conduct. All subjects were released pending court.
Frank Irwin, 62, Benton, and his passenger were uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle crash in the W6500 block of Wisconsin 11, Monroe Township, at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 29. Irwin was westbound on Wis. 11 when a deer entered the roadway and ran into his vehicle. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
Daniel R. Gander, 36, Albany, was uninjured in a motorcycle crash in the N4500 block of County E, Town of Decatur, at 3:20 p.m. Sunday, March 30. Gander was eastbound on County E when he failed to negotiate a curve and his motorcycle ran into a barbed wire fence. The motorcycle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

BRODHEAD - Preston T. Usher, 25, Brodhead, was cited at 10:39 p.m. Sunday, March 23, for failure to yield right-of-way, driving while revoked and driving without insurance following a traffic accident in the 1200 block of East 5th Avenue. Usher has an initial appearance set for April 21.
New Glarus Police
NEW GLARUS - Police assisted the Green County Sheriff's Department with a deer vs. vehicle accident on Wis. 69 near Windmill Ridge Road at 8:03 p.m. Monday, March 24.
Minor injuries were reported in a one-vehicle rollover crash on Wis. 69 near County W at 8:18 a.m. Tuesday, March 25. Richard H. Irland, 64, New Glarus, was northbound on Wis. 69 when he lost control of his 2002 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck due to the ice-covered highway.

DARLINGTON - On Saturday, March 29:
Paige K. Slater, 17, Benton, sustained injuries in a one-vehicle rollover crash on County W, Benton Township at 1:05 a.m. Slater was westbound on County W and reportedly using her cellphone when her 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier crossed the center line when she attempted to correct and go back into her lane. The car then traveled back across the roadway and into the ditch. Slater attempted to correct the car again, caught the side of the roadway, went airborne and rolled over landing on the roof of the vehicle. The car sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
Tammy L. Figi, 46, South Wayne, reported hitting a deer on County N, Wiota Township, at 8:14 p.m.
On Sunday, March 30:
Reginald J. Droesler, 58, Cuba City, reported hitting a deer on County I, New Diggings Township, at 9:44 a.m.
No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident on Galena Street, Benton. Kevin C. Farrey, 32, Benton, was backing out of a private driveway and hit a legally parked vehicle owned by Lavern Darrow, Belmont, at 1:06 p.m. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were driven from the scene.
