Thomas Allen Jacobson, 51 of Monroe, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016. He was born August 26, 1965 the son of Raymond and Elayne Jacobson. Tom was united in marriage to Mindy Ellingson on July 12, 2008 in Monroe.
Tom was a 1983 graduate of Monroe High School and a 1989 graduate of U.W. LaCrosse where he earned his degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. He worked for Medical Associated in Dubuque, and later became a salesman at the family business, Precision Drive & Control in Monroe and Freeport. He had been a long time member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Tom enjoyed playing darts, cooking, and loved his pets.
He is survived by his wife, Mindy of Monroe; parents, Raymond and Elayne Jacobson of Monroe; step-son, Bret Paulson; brothers, Steve (Patti Schliem) Jacobson of Monroe, Gene (Tracy) Jacobson of Monroe, Joel (Jamie) Jacobson of Oshkosh, and Keith (Jolene) Jacobson of Freeport; mother-in-law, Donna Ellingson of Monroe; brothers and sister-in-law, Mark (Lori) Ellingson of Pella, IA, Marcia (Tom) Wells of Ridott, IL, and Myron (Jean Rufenacht) Ellingson of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Terry Ellingson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8. 2016 at the St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Monsignor Larry Bakke as celebrant. Burial will follow service at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Green County Humane Society in Tom's memory.
