Theodore C. Weiss, 80, of Monroe, Wisconsin, son of Theodore R and Viola Schindler Weiss passed away on Monday, March 19th due to causes incident to age. He was born on July 5th, 1937 and was raised on a farm in rural Monroe. He married Judith Walden in 1955 and together they had four children; they divorced in 1982. Ted had many interests and was a very capable farmer, crop duster, carpenter and welder and worked locally for Industrial Combustion for 10 years. He was an amateur Ham Radio operator and built most of his own radio equipment. He loved to fly airplanes and ran the Monroe Airport as the fixed base operator for many years and was involved in the Civil Air Patrol. He served the City of Monroe as the Civil Defense director starting in the mid-60's and oversaw the installation of Civil Defense sirens in Monroe. He was interested in politics and in 1973 ran for State Assembly although he was not elected. He served as President of the UCC church council for several years and was very proud of being a Mason and a Shriner. Ted leaves behind a brother and sister in law (Eugene and Carol Weiss), four children (Kathleen Miller, Kristine Opatz, Timothy Weiss, and Sherrin Weiss), son in law (Mark Miller), a niece (Melodie Manthei) and nephew (Richard Weiss), 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death in recent years by his parents and a nephew (Todd Babler). Services for Ted were private.
